| Laneways and alleys are the neglected, garage-lined corridors that run parallel to Toronto's streets. Much like temporary pets or an animal that followed you home, these simple thoroughfares have no name, and are treated in much the same way. We propose naming these humble lanes to breathe life into them. Some laneways are named, with great results! Consider Croft Street, whose beautiful murals commemorate a great Torontonian who died in the Great Fire of 1904, or the ivy-covered Sussex Mews, a lane that continues to delight.
