Throwies are a revolution in temporary art: invented by the Graffiti Research Lab, they can stick to anything that is ferromagnetic and glow for about two weeks. On December 8th, we will create a thousand points of light when we decorate a massive surprise with colourful brilliance. Each participant will be given a handful of these delightful devices and let loose simultaneously :)

Environmental statement: We are no longer using batteries that contain heavy metals in this art installation. However, we will do our best to recycle all the batteries we can :-)

Okay lovers, I left the Red Room last night and mounted the Spadina streetcar for the ride home. The whole side of the car had been hit by about 100 throwies! I grabbed a handfull, got on the car, and found that just about everyone was talking about it, and had a handfull themselves! It was a pleasure explaining it to everyone. Radical Illumanation sustained its brightness long past the event itself! You're all beautiful!

That was pretty dopeski, next time put magnets on both sides of the battries so they actually stick! Most of them didn't really, unfortunately.

I brought my camera and tripod with me and got at Queen and Spadina by 11:30pm. Unfortunately, i didnt see any Throwie light there. Someone told me ppl have thrown most light on a streetcar. Then the streetcar went away. I did see a lot people around but nothing special. Maybe next time, the website should warm people to get there on time to be able to take photos.
