Join us for Capture the Flag, the totally regressive team game with bases, jails, sides and flags! Run along the streets of Brooklyn's waterfront, treading over cobblestones and trolley tracks. Outwit opponents, hiding around warehouse corners before you find their flag, outmaneuver their flag keepers and dash home for a point in the pulse-quickening game of urban capture. Defend your territory with its view of the Manhattan skyline, tagging trespassers and sending them to jail. Manhunt has been wonderful; come capture the flag for a night of summer joy. The streets are your playground, reclaim them! Bedford Ave. & N 8th Street on Thursday, June 16 at 8:00 PM sharp. take the L to Bedford Ave and walk north. Here's a neat summary you can send to your friends:
Future games: There will be one more game hosted by newmindspace in June. Manhunt players will host the games in July! :)
The central street ("the border") is neutral territory, but the sidewalks of the central streets are not.
Players are safe on their side. If they are in enemy territory, they can be tagged by an opponent. If you are tagged, you must proceeed to the furthest street in your own territory.
Players are allowed to use bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, longboards, taxis, and B61 busses as long as they are not carrying a flag.
A point is scored when the enemy's flag enters your territory. When a point is scored, a fog horn will sound and all players must return to their sides for a 2-minute flag re-hiding.
The team with the most points at the end of 60 minutes wins! :)
All ages. You do not need to sign up, just show up :) But I appreciate the roll call! If you are late, simply choose a team by putting on an armband, which will be left for you.
